Mary and Elizabeth

If you need encouragement or a listening ear, it's hard to beat a friend who's walking the same path.

Mary and Elizabeth, who didn't even expect to be expecting, turned to each other for that listening ear and those words of encouragement.

It's easy to see why the first person Mary wanted to talk to was her pregnant kinswoman. Elizabeth, who shared her faith in a wonder-working God.

If you've ever been bursting with news about something God has done in your life ~ an answer to a prayer, a long awaited blessing, a surprising provision ~ you didn't want to spill the beans to just anyone.  Like Mary, you longed to tell somebody who would get it. A friend who would say, "Praise God!"  instead of, "Lucky you."

The friendship of like-minded women is so important to our emotional and spiritual well-being.
Don't you just love that comment.  I think that's why GLOW has become so important to each of us!  Don't you?

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39 Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, 40 and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
Luke 1:39-45

I just loved where it said, a like-minded friend will say "Praise God!" instead of "Lucky you."
So true!

Hope you enjoyed the post!
